I’m not a vegetarian - I used to be a few years ago - but these days, I’ll eat fish, chicken and turkey. However,
my boyfriend is a veggie (and a very strict one at that) so lately I’ve been back to eating a very veg diet. Two things that I’ve started to eat a lot of that I NEVER ate when I was a veggie are avocados and eggs.
In fact, until about two years ago, I didn’t like avocados. I still have no idea what flipped the switch but now I’m eating them a lot and eating them like apples. And, they’re kind of the perfect food - because they’re filling, they have healthy fats, protein and fiber. And while I ate eggs before and have always liked them, I have never eaten so many eggs. He likes to hard boil them so we can take them for breakfast or lunch and then he’ll want to scramble them with veggies for dinner as well. Before I dated him, I think I would’ve thought that was egg overload!
Back to the avocados because that’s really the reason I’m writing this post. I was totally inspired yesterday after eating an avocado I bought from the farmer’s market down by the Ferry Building in SF. I was skeptical at first because they were so much smaller than the ones I’m used to seeing but one bite and I’m hooked. They taste like butter and are totally melt in your mouth good. I am going back this Saturday and buying like a dozen of them. My goal is to find out what kind they are/what farm they are from or whatever so I can let people in on this oh so perfect avocado.
