I’ve always known there was a larger force driving me to continue to drag my ass week after week to Global Yoga. Whatever was driving me to gather my yoga mat and sweat for 90 minutes had to be more than ju
st the workout or the way I felt after class. I’ve taken many fitness classes - from spinning, kickboxing, and tae-bo to capoeira and belly dancing - and I happily stopped going to most of them after a few weeks. All I ever needed was the right excuse - too expensive, too far away, too early/too late. I decided the reason even had to be bigger than health benefits I’ve experienced from Bikram yoga like increased energy, mood, and overall fitness.
Today, I found my answer in a recent study published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine which found that women who practiced yoga reported improvements in arousal and better orgasms. All I can say is, don’t underestimate the power of the standing bow pose.
