Want Some Heavy Metal In Your Food?

by jamie on January 28, 2009

If you like eating heavy metal, then you’ll love that many popular consumer products that contain high fructose corn syrup like Quaker Oatmeal to Go, Jack Daniel’s Barbecue Sauce (Heinz), Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup, and more are also contaminated with Mercury.  As if feeding our kids high fructose corn syrup wasn’t bad enough, now we’re feeding them Mercury.

According to Epicurean, the FDA had knowledge of the Mercury contamination four years ago and did nothing to inform consumers or change their industry practice to further prevent this.  This is just more evidence that the FDA doesn’t care about you or your brain - just about pushing products that have a hefty political agenda out to the masses.  Ugh!

Just another reason to READ THE LABELS before you eat or continue to check my blog for friendly and healthy products that don’t contain HFCS or Mercury like Mom’s Best Naturals Oatmeal (instead of Quaker’s) and Wholemato Agave spicy ketchup in place of Heinz.

Thanks to the Yale Sustainable Food Project Blog for pointing out how much MORE ridiculous these “Corn Refiners Association” ads now seem-

Listen kids- if you can’t articulate the scientific explanation for something being bad for you, you should just shutup and use it.
