I’ve always wondered why Starbucks didn’t sell bananas. And admittedly, got a little pissed off when they introduced Vivanno, their new smoothie line with bananas as the key ingredient and still no bananas! I don’t like fancy drinks and pastries, or packaged fruit cups with slimy fruit all mixed together; all I want for breakfast is my coffee (or iced green tea) and a damn banana.
Today, I was pleasantly surprised when I stopped in at Starbucks for an iced green tea. I was getting ready to purchase my tea and looked down on the counter and saw a basket of bananas! So now, when I am either out of bananas or on the road, I’ll be able to rely on good old Starbucks for my daily fix.
I’ve also noticed they’ve added oatmeal to their breakfast line-up. Seems like their trying to “health up” some of their breakfast options or just compete more evenly with Jamba Juice. Good idea since most of Starbucks fancy drinks and pastries contain enough calories for your entire day. Be especially weary of their green tea lattes - they sound healthy but they’re far from it and contain a lot more than just green tea and steamed milk.
