Eating Out NYC: Citrus Bar & Grill

by jamie on April 8, 2009

While traveling for work, I like to at least get one good dinner in.  Last night, my friend Megan took me to Citrus Bar & Grill in her Upper West side neighborhood and I would say the food was hit or miss.  Its a strange restaurant - a fusion of Latin and Asian cuisines - which is great if you’re in the mood for chips & salsa, and sushi in the same meal.

For starters, we ordered the Citrus Chopped Salad to share - this was a definite miss!  It wasn’t terrible, it just wasn’t that great which was surprising given the ingredients - pumpkin seeds, manchego cheese, jiicama, avocado, and cucumber.  That being said, the main course was delicious.  I had the organic baked tofu stir-fry with brown rice, carrots, zucchini, and ginger.  YUM!

If you’re in the neighborhood and are in the mood for options, this is a great place to give a try.  Plus, the prices are pretty reasonable.
