by jamie on April 20, 2009

If you’re passionate about your produce, Blue Barn Gourmet on Chestnut St is the place to go!  Inspired by the seasonal harvests from Oak Hill Farm in Sonoma, Blue Barn serves up a consistently good mix of create your own salads for $8.50 (extra if you want protein). Blue Barn Gourmet Salad

Going raw? Feast on a bed of greens topped with cucumber, carrot, red onion, scallion, snow peas, jicama, cherry tomatoes, nicoise olives, artichokes, avocado. Or mix it up - try your raw veggies with some grilled portabellos, black beans, roasted beets, and fruit.  And top it all off with some tofu (for $2 extra).

Or, try their ready made salads like beets and greens (strawberries, beets, goat cheese, and more) and the Fattoush Salad (pita, falafel, chickpeas, cherry tomatoes, and feta) - prices range from $8-10.  They also have some great sandwich options - the Buddha (hummus, bell peppers, portobellos and feta) is my personal favorite (prices range from $7-10).
