I just ran across this FANTASTIC chart that shows how time spent eating per day relates to the national obesity rate in several countries. Its interesting because countries who spend MORE time eating per day seem to have lower obesity rates - just look at France, Japan, Italy - lots of time eating, less obesity.
Then look at the US — yikes - chart toppers in the fast food and obesity department.
Lesson Learned: Avoid the fast food jungle. Chew and chew a lot before you swallow.

Wow. I had no idea the US would rate so highly on the BMI chart. Probably shouldn’t be so surprised though…
I believe what this chart is saying is take longer lunch breaks and eat chewier food, such as beef jerky and lots of dry bread.
i’ve always heard that the longer you chew, the faster you’ll fill up since your mind actually has time to listen to your stomach.
