Your Breakfast Might Be Making You Fatter

We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day - what you eat can determine how you feel for the rest of the day. So before you go for that doughnut or that egg McMuffin, think twice about what you’re eating.  Do you really want to fuel your body for the rest of the day with a heap of sugar, calories and fat? Try something lighter — fruit, granola, yogurt, or even a fruit based smoothie.

In “Eat This, Not That!” Dave Zinczenko offers advice on avoiding morning meals that are packed with calories, fat and sugar. He also exposes a few breakfast favorites like Jamba Juice, Otis Spunkmeyer muffins, Ihop, and more.

This makes total sense. How I feel all day is totally determined by the kind of breakfast I eat! And Jamba Juice is PACKED with calories and sugar but still leaves you hungry half an hour later.

One of my close friends likes to eat healthy. She considers herself pretty in tune with her body and health. But nearly every morning she heads to McDonald’s for breakfast! I’ve told her countless times that a greasy mcmuffin probably isn’t the smartest way to fuel yourself for the day ahead, but she insists it must be “at least somewhat healthy”. *sigh*
I think breakfast is the most important meal of the day and can really change your mood and energy level for the rest of the day. It’s good that people are beginning to take note of what they’re starting their day off with in their bellys. :)
