Be wary of hot cereals, drink powders and even toppings and sauces containing dry milk - they may be tainted. We’re in the midst of yet another food recall - first it was peanut butter, then pistachios and now oatmeal!
Salmonella was first detected in a milkshake powder in June that they were able to track back to a plant. As a result, The Plainview Milk Products Cooperative issued a voluntary recall of non-fat dried milk, whey protein and thickening agents produced over the past two years.
According to the FDA, there have been no reports of illness due to the tainted products as of yet.
