After a few weeks of Thrive Diet recipe experiments, Bryan came home with a new book for me, Super Natural Cooking by Heidi Swanson (also popular blogger for 101 Cookbooks). I think he’s trying to tell me something - less raw, more cooked, and maybe even butter and cheese please?
I have to give it to him, he’s a smart man. He knows how much I love to “experiment” in the kitchen and with a new shiny book full of recipes I haven’t tried before, he’s bound to get something good out of it. The other night, we tried Heidi’s Quinoa and Crescenza (only we used Gruyere) with Sauteed Mushrooms. I haven’t cooked something this indulgent in quite some time - it was made with butter, cheese and wine! And my god, it was good.
Basically, you cook the quinoa in butter (and wine) and then sautee the mushrooms in butter and then you add cheese and call it a night.
I’m dying to try crescenza - our Whole Foods didn’t carry it - she makes it sound creamy and decadent like a triple cream brie….

it looks scrumptious!!
you’re my kind of gal! I would totally highlight the word “cheese” and put glitters around it if I could too! CHEESE = LOVE!
