Its true, I’m obsessed with lettuce wraps - whether they are kale, romaine, or chard leaves, I love them! I can’t stop thinking of new ways to make them.
For dinner tonight, I made romaine lettuce wraps with broccoli, shiitake mushrooms, bean sprouts, and water chestnuts. So tasty!
Here are all my beautiful veggies in the pan..
And right before I rolled them up, dipped it into Sriacha and indulged!
Here’s the recipe:
- 2 tbsps olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsps soy sauce or Soy Vay marinade
- 2 bunches of broccoli, chopped
- 2 handfuls of shiitake mushrooms, sliced
- 1 can water chestnuts
- 1 handful of bean sprouts
- 4 romaine lettuce leaves, rinsed and drie
- Sriacha hot sauce to taste
Heat a large pan over medium flame. Once hot, add olive oil and garlic and saute until garlic is brown. Add the soy sauce or marinade, broccoli and mushrooms. Cover and cook over low heat for 3 minutes. Uncover and add water chestnuts and bean sprouts. Cook for another minute. Remove from heat. Fill lettuce leaves with mixture and sprinkle on some sriacha hot sauce if you dare!
