The weekend flew by way too quickly - partly because I hauled us all the way up to Shasta Lake and back and partly because I needed another three day weekend to get my life organized. All those piles of mail, bills, and crap that I keep meaning to “get to” just continue to build and build and build…
The alarm went off ungodly early this morning but I dragged myself out of bed to meet my bootcampers at the top of the Lyon Street stairs. It turned out to be a really great workout this morning. I had them running, jumping, balancing on one foot, and even put them through a very grueling ab workout. And best of all, they did really well - I am already starting to see a lot of progress in a very short time. I am so proud.
To reward myself for getting up and out on time, I had my favorite Amazing Grass Choco Infused Amazing Meal smoothie for breakfast and made myself a really delicious lunch - Sunshine Veggie Burger on Hemp Seed bread with Wholemato Oranic Agave Ketchup and a side of avocado to top it all off. It was the first time I’ve ever tried any of the Sunshine Burger products and I must say, I am very impressed. They are super simple and healthy containing only raw sunflower seeds, brown rice, carrots, herbs and sea salt. A few of the other veggie burger companies out there should take note - developing a healthier, less sodium and crap filled veggie burger can be done!
Not the best photo, I know but alll I had with me was the iPhone today!

Hey y’all…would you recommend coconut oil? I have a friend who swears by it…he eats half a bottle everyday and is in phenomenal shape. He says that it allows your body to process foods according to when you use them and not convert them to fat. Is this true? I ate some coconut oil the other day and it sent me to the bathroom for half an hour. Anyone have similar experiences or would like to comment?
Hahah, what did you use the coconut oil with? I have experienced this same thing — ever since I’ve started following more recipes out of the Thrive Diet and basically trying to cut out all the crap and only eat healthy, real food, I’ve been experiencing that a lot more. :) But its almost just like a cleansing? I never actually feel sick.
From what I understand, coconut oil is supposed to aid with digestion, metabolism, weight loss, maintaining cholesterol levels because it contains lauric acid, capric acid and caprylic acid, and its properties such as antimicrobial, antioxidant, antifungal, antibacterial, soothing, etc. It also contains less calories and fat than most other oils and because of this is more easily converted to energy and does not contribute to accumulation of fat in arteries/heart…
i’ve never heard of sunshine veggie burgers, and from what you have to say about them they seem really good. i love veggie burgers with different grains and veggies throughout the whole thing! Where can i find them?
I bought mine at Whole Foods — they are sooo good!
