I Still Love You the Most

by jamie on January 7, 2010

Of all the things I have made in my Blendtec over the past week, I heart my homemade peanut butter the most. So much so that I went to Whole Foods and bought 2.5 lbs of organic roasted peanuts. Farewell Food Mill and HELLLLO homemade peanut butter.

Once I master the art of pb, I think I will move on to almond butter. I love seeing big creamy jars of peanut butter in my fridge and thinking I made that. Not that its hard, its just this obsession I have with making things myself. First kombucha, then peanut butter and multi-grain bread, and next almond butter and strawberry jam.

We ALSO made this delicious chia seed bread in our Blendtec over the weekend. I used Sprouted Super Flour, added some dry active yeast, and a cup of chia seeds and voila, instant and amazing bread.

Ok, it wasn’t all that instant…Bryan did a little extra kneading for me as it was still a bit sticky.

Isn’t he cute?

Here’s my beautiful bread topped with a little homemade peanut butter…

JEALOUS! If I had a way to make my own nut butters I might not do anything else ;-)

Wow. That looks amazing. There is nothing so delicious in this world as peanut butter on a spoon. That is, except for homemade peanut butter on homemad bread.

Hey Lena, sure thing! 3 cups of organic roasted peanuts, one tsp salt. Put all ingredients in Blendtec. Press “Speed Up” till it reaches 1. Scrape sides with rubber spatula. Press “Speed Up” till it reaches 5. Scrape sides with rubber spatula. And repeat until desired consistency. :)
