Shaking it Up

by jamie on May 20, 2010

I know its been awhile since I last posted but don’t fret, I’m still here! I have received so many emails and questions and wanted to reassure everyone that I am NOT giving up on the blog, I’m just between cameras and find it difficult to post any of my delicious creations without photo evidence.

Anyway, as many of you know, I’m a firm believer in smoothies. I drink one almost every single day for breakfast as they are not only nutritious but they are the perfect post workout meal. I’m usually pretty boring with my morning smoothies - a little soy milk, banana, and chia seeds or soy milk, banana, chia seeds and Amazing Grass Choco Infused Amazing Meal.

This morning on my way back from the gym, I realized I was out of soy milk (CRAP!!) but didn’t really have time to trek all the way to the grocery store.  So instead, I stopped in the liquor store beneath my apartment. And while they didn’t have soy milk, they did have Odwalla juices.  It was definitely going outside of my comfort zone but gave it a try anyway.  I ended up grabbing the very green and very yummy Odwalla Superfood juice. I used about a cup of Odwalla Superfood, banana, chia seeds and ice and oh my deliciousness — it was good!

What other juices do you use in your smoothies?

What a great idea to try the Odwalla juice in the smoothie! A fun way to mix it up and get lots of different and yummy flavors into your drink. I can’t wait to try it!

That is the only juice I typically add to my smoothies! Love it!

I like using POM in my smoothies or sometimes I just used protein powder to add some of the flavor
