Galaxy Granola has organized the first ever FAT SWAP, a movement to get people to eliminate some unhealthy food in their diet for healthier substitutions. To participate, they are asking people to clean out the fat from their kitchen cupboards and to either sign up online and send it in or bring it down to the kick-off party on Saturday, June 19th at the Palo Alto Whole Foods from 10-2 pm or one of the other drop off locations. The end goal: eliminate 10,000 pounds of fat from consumer’s diets in 90 days.
To get ready for the big event next weekend, I decided to tackle my office fridge and cupboards. Shhhh, don’t tell my co-workers! :)

Whoa. Good luck…I hope your co-workers appreciate you for being concerned with their health! But I would think a bit of canola oil is actually pretty healthy…And so long as you don’t use a huge slab of butter for each toast, a tiny dab of butter is all right, too! But hm, I guess the point is that most people DON’T stay with a “dab” of butter, haha.
Your workplace has a really NICE kitchen! Clean and modern!
You’re cute on camera! Was there a backlash from your kitchen raid?
We just hosted a potluck salad bar at work - it turned out really well! Everyone brought a different, healthy salad bar item and we all made yummy salads. Definitely a healthier practice than Reese’s Pieces and Skippy!
omg, an office salad potluck, that’s genius and wonderful!! Yeah, not so much where I work - its all processed, fake crap - someday people will learn and STOP eating that stuff! ;)
